Banana-Leaf Art

- the African Story -

And yes, having no TV, no video games around, this is what most African children, not only in Zambia, do after school and/or homework is done..

What you see in here is just a glimpse of the diverse creativity those little hands stay busy with.  The lack of money or materials does not deter their creative minds when they decide to have fun.

                         They just

do what they can with  what they have      wherever they are.

Thanks to Sponsors, Hosts & Supporters like U                                                        ...

... we have had different teams of 3 to 4 school children from Zambia sponsored and invited to the USA for Intercultural Exchange and Live Demo programs during their summer breaks and visited many parts of the USA. Here are some of their highlights:

2 Weeks @ Disney's

  Animal  Kingdom.

                      OBJECTIVE:

To let those select few representing many others to come and learn from the short experience here in the USA that:

Blessing does not always come in form of gold and silver. Even with discarded materials like banana leaves, they can still spring themselves to life of their dreams.

One medical school graduate from this program has inspired many more others to live lives of high hope even in the midst of the most punishing living conditions as I have personally experienced.
